The Great Alpine Scarecrow Building Workshop
Join the Great Alpine Scarecrow Building Workshop and enjoy a fun, hands-on community event celebrating creativity, recycled art and imagination. Held on the Junction Hotel lawn area in Swifts Creek, this relaxed workshop invites locals, families, visitors, schools and community groups to design and build their own unique scarecrows using a wide range of recycled and repurposed materials.
Participants can create a scarecrow to take home and display at their house, mailbox, business or community space as part of The Great Alpine Scarecrow Competition. Materials and basic construction supplies will be available on the day, along with creative guidance and inspiration for all ages and skill levels. No previous experience is needed — just bring your creativity and willingness to have fun.
The workshop is a fantastic opportunity to connect with the community, get involved in a playful public art project, and contribute to a colourful trail of scarecrows appearing throughout the region during the festival period.
