Rustic Rug Weaving Workshop

Create a thick-textured woven floor rug using wool yarn and unspun wool tops (approx. size 85 x 35cm, bathmat size). Due to the thick weft making the weaving process faster, this workshop will also include warping the loom yourself with your selected yarn colour.

Skills covered will include:
– General weaving terminology
– Direct Warping (for a rigid heddle loom)
– Weaving Plainweave (Tabby)
– Posture & tips for avoiding strain
– Advancing the warp & getting the right tension

​We will be using a 100% wool yarn and have an option of 100% wool tops or a mixed ‘montage’ tops that includes wool, alpaca & silk. If you are unable to use any of these natural fibres please contact us to discuss alternative options.
