ON FOOT with Floating Threads
Marlene Rees has built her FLOATING THREADS fashion label – and now her creative studio – overlooking beautiful Lake Bunga. Built on the farmland where her grandparents were original pioneers of the region, between Lake Tyers and Lake Bunga. Marlene is an extraordinary creator of fine (and perfectly sewn) local design. More recently her talent for retro-style lamps have made her even more famous for that old-style seamstress skill (with her inimitable home decor flair).
Come and meet the maker and walk on her place. Share a wine.
Marlene would love to show you around – and share some local stories. Arrive at FLOATING THREADS STUDIO @ 2.30 Take a 20 minute walk down to the Lake’s edge. Return to the studio to share a coffee or a glass of wine around the fire. An opportunity to hear a little more about the surrounding history by Shane Rees.
(We also hope to celebrate the launch of the Funky Franklin mobile café, in Leanne Flaherty’s retro Franklin van. Fingers crossed, we’ll be ready for show time!)
