REGENEROSITY
It’s been quite a year (or two) here in Gippsland. We’ve had to learn a lot about natural disasters, resilience, the power of community, kindness – and renewable energy. REGENEROSITY is showing off the Gippslanders who are leading the way – through the lens of acclaimed Mallacootian photographer Rachel Mounsey.
In 2021 the Gippsland Community Power Hub wondered out loud how we could share our most inspirational stories of farmers, timber mills, communities, chefs, developers, artists, and sporting club heroes who are flipping the resilience story. Stories of the local folk who are changing the way we use our power to live better – and more generous lives. Changing the way we work, live, travel and communicate. Everything. REGENEROSITY is about thanking the clever folk who’ve embraced the challenge of climate change to create real solutions. Everyday energy. Rachel Mounsey has become Gippsland’s best known – and most acclaimed – photographer. The Gippsland Community Power Hub and FLOAT are proud to have begun a visual community-led story through the camera lens of Rachel. From Venus Bay to Mallacoota. From Goongerah to Cape Patterson. From Lakes Entrance to Briagolong. We have quite a story to tell. We hope its just the beginning of a VERY GOOD CONVERSATION. Opening Night of the exhibition – at Iceworks Studio– will invite us all to cheer the good work of good energy. Projections, paste-ups and take-home printed zines will get the ball rolling – in very good company. The exhibition will subsequently travel throughout Gippsland to build a collage of everyday heroes. |
