Folk Workshops with Mickey & Michelle

Two separate spaces will be provided for a fiddle and harp workshop with Mickey and Michelle.

Fiddle Workshop
Mickey O’Donnell teaches a workshop focusing on creativity within Celtic fiddling. Participants will learn a great tune, while also focusing on groove, bowing, ornaments, the chop, and writing your own variations.

Fiddlers of all abilities are welcome to attend, but intermediate to advanced players will get the most out of the session. All music will be taught by ear, while sheet music will be made available after class.

Harp Workshop
Join Michelle Doyle for a vibrant harp workshop, drawing on her 25 years of performance experience. Participants will explore Celtic melodies and accompaniment techniques in an engaging and supportive setting.

Harpers and harpists are welcome with a suggested minimum three years of playing. To get the most out of the class, participants’ harps should be comfortable playing in the keys of G and D. All music will be taught by ear, with sheet music provided after the class.

Attendance to these workshops will grant you entry to the folk concert the following day at the Nowa Nowa Public Hall.
