Far East Flaneur – with Bert Spinks and Ruby Gill
FAR EAST FLANEUR
FLOAT is inviting some of our favourite Artists-in-Residence to return to Far East Gippsland for a sweet, EG Winter Festival finale. We hope you’ll join us for some song, storytelling and cider by the fire at Bungalook Studio, Lakes Entrance.
Bert Spinks, Tassie-based storyteller (and now Far East Flaneur) will have travelled east for a week or two, from Lakes Entrance, to find the stories and secret places that locals love the most. Lake Tyers, Bung Yarnda, Nowa Nowa, Wairewa, Snowy River, Orbost, Marlo, Salmon Rocks, Beware Reef, Dunetown. Beyond.
And then back again, to tell us all about them, in bursts of short stories and observations (with a nature-loving eye). His storytelling is perfect for FLOAT loving folk.

AND – the equally fabulous Ruby Gill is coming too, to woo the night away with us. Just back from London, Dublin and Dark Mofo. Songs, between stories and friends. Around the fire. This fabulous, bird-loving, maestro of words and song will experience our FLOAT love at Josephine Jakobi’s straw-bale studio (that sits alongside the Colquhoun Forest, home of Gippsland’s Glossy Black Cockatoos.)
… so we can all bask in the afterglow of a festival done right and contemplate our Far East Flaneur possibilities
Date: Sunday 20 July

Location: Bungalook Studio – 252 Colquhoun Road, Lakes Entrance
