Lakes Lights: Enchanted Shores

Embark on a journey through the magical realms of “Enchanted Shores,” where Lakes Entrance’s foreshore is adorned with whimsical wonders. Behold the spectacular lantern sculptures crafted by skilled artisans, witness the graceful dance of roving performers embodying mythical creatures, and lose yourself in the spellbinding soundscapes. As the sun sets, the shoreline awakens with vibrant hues and mesmerizing projections, casting a spell of wonder upon all who dare to wander this fantastical land. Join us for a night of enchantment and community camaraderie, where the spirit of creativity and imagination reigns supreme.

The popular community Lantern Parade returns in 2024! Gather from 4pm at the Slipway (470 Esplanade, Lakes Entrance) and be entertained by local musicians and roving performers. The Slipway Shacks will have food and drink options available plus a few pop-up guests including a Coast Guard sausage sizzle on the lawn!

The lantern parade will depart the Slipway at 6pm led by the CFA. Anyone with a lantern (plus an accompanying adult) can book a spot in the parade and be one of the first to see the magical display across the Footbridge. There will be several free lantern making workshops in the lead-up, proudly supported by VicHealth.  Details coming soon to the EGWF Program – be sure to get along to one of the workshops and make your own lantern to carry in the parade.

Those not taking part in the parade can book a ticket to cross the footbridge and explore the ‘Enchanted Shores’ display from 6:30pm onwards.

Please Note: The Lantern Parade and each 30 minute time slot following will have a capacity limit to ensure a safe and comfortable experience for all. 

Once a time slot is fully booked, you will need to select another available time. We highly recommend you book in advance to secure your preferred time, however we do ask anyone without young children to consider booking a later time to allow families with young kids the opportunity to see the lanterns before bedtime (and toddler tantrums!)

Be sure to check out the food truck and live music precinct to the east of the Rotunda before or after you wander over to the Enchanted Shores wonderland. There will be tunes from local legends iO that are sure to get you bopping, and plenty of winter warming food options available from the Food Trucks. Eateries along the Esplanade and Myer Street will stay open late to help feed the masses and we encourage you to support as many local businesses as possible throughout your winter adventures!
