Dance of the Water Dragon – Launch Event

Dance of the Water Dragon is an artistic response to the life and environment of the local inhabitant, the Gippsland Water Dragon. After a convivial afternoon picnicking along the Poet’s Walk in Swifts Creek (picnic provided, BYO picnic rug), an ecologist will give an informative talk about the habitat of the creature. Activities for include face and rock painting for the young ones, dragon egg weaving and a fire pit.

At dusk, a lantern parade will proceed to the Gallery, led by a giant Water Dragon, accompanied by beautiful hand held lanterns. This will culminate in an immersive sound and videoscape experience back at the Great Alpine Gallery after a short exhibition opening. Festivities will continue into the night.
