A Fungal Foray for Budding Citizen Scientists

Citizen scientists make a valuable contribution to our understanding of the environment and how it is changing. Learn how you can become a citizen scientist as your guides explain the basics of fungi and how to record your observations using the iNaturalist app. No fungi will be disturbed on this foray.

Enjoy the walk around the Marsdenia Rainforest Walk, a gem amongst walks in our own backyard. Be prepared for a walk in the bush along a foot track that will take about an hour. Bring your mobile phone, loaded with the iNaturalist app and a small mirror to see and photograph the undersides of mushroom caps.

We’ll begin with a half hour instructional briefing and finish with a half hour debrief over a cup of bush tea and supper to discuss your finds and help you log them.
