The East Gippsland Winter Festival returns 20 June - 20 July, 2025!

Experience HOW WE WINTER in East Gippsland as the region comes alive in a festival of light, food, music, art and culture.

Incorporating Winter Solstice and the Winter School Holidays, the fifth annual East Gippsland Winter Festival will present one of the largest winter festival programs anywhere in Australia, offering something for all ages and a memorable winter getaway with family or friends. Choose from over 100 different events, right across East Gippsland.

Expect beautiful hand-made lanterns, projection art that augments reality, live music in unexpected places, engaging pop-up events, long lunches and winter feasts in spectacular locations, creative hands-on workshops, wellness experiences overlooking lakes, on-foot adventures and much more.

Bruthen Medieval Winter Fire Festival

Bruthen's Medieval Winter Fire Festival is on again with wonderful medieval costumes, spectacular sword fighting, a bonfire, hearty food and beverages, and live music. Dress up in your best Medieval costume, rug up and venture out into the winter evening.

Fire & Ice @ Metung

Gather with locals & visitors on the Metung Village Green to enjoy the amazing spectacle of a live ice carving performance and a breathtaking fire breathing & juggling show. Be entertained with music and warm your belly with tasty culinary delights.

Lakes Lights

Take part in the community lantern parade across the Lakes Entrance Footbridge and then marvel at artist-made lantern sculptures, projection art and light installations as the Lakes Entrance foreshore transforms into a whimsical wonderland. Immerse yourself amongst roving performers and soundscapes for an unforgettable community celebration.

Join Sailors Grave Brewing for a special ‘Deep in the Weeds Festival’ at their new Dunetown brewery! Come along and celebrate the final weekend of the month-long East Gippsland Winter Festival in style with great tunes, delicious food and of course, Sailors Grave's weird and wonderful beers!
