The East Gippsland Winter Festival returns 21 JUNE - 21 JULY, 2024

Experience HOW WE WINTER in East Gippsland as the region comes alive in a festival of light, food, music, art and culture.

Incorporating Winter Solstice and the Winter School Holidays, the fourth annual East Gippsland Winter Festival presents one of the largest winter festival programs anywhere in Australia, offering something for all ages and a memorable winter getaway with family or friends!

Expect beautiful hand-made lanterns, projection art that augments reality, live music in unexpected places, long lunches and winter feasts in spectacular locations, creative hands-on workshops, wellness experiences overlooking lakes, on-foot adventures and much more!

Nourishing Traditions Sourdough making

Learn the art and science of making a wild yeast starter and sourdough bread on an island in the Gippsland Lakes. Participate in the hands-on process and relax in between by the wood fire oven with seasonal harvest lunch provided and optional meditation and/or garden exploration.

Buchan's 'Christmas in July' Closing Event

Our “Cool Yule” ends on Friday 19 July from 5:30pm with a huge Closing Night event at the Butter Factory featuring light displays, lantern display, live music from Delsinki & The Quiet Coachmen and so much more.

Deep in the Weeds

Join Sailors Grave Brewing for their infamous ‘Deep in the Weeds Festival’ at a special venue in 2024, the Marlo Hotel!! Come along and celebrate the final weekend of the month-long East Gippsland Winter Festival in style with great tunes, Wild Pies and of course, Sailors Grave's weird and wonderful beers!
